Abhishek has contributed his dedicated work being a prominent member of the party Indian National Congress. Moreover, he is also the parliament member who represented his state Rajasthan in Rajya Sabha. Additionally, he is the excellent spokesperson in the National Congress party. In the period between 1998 and 2004, he became the members of the party Bhartiya Janta Party after the conductions of elections in the Rajya Sabha. Initially, he entered the political field as an Additional Solicitor General of India in the year of the time from 1997 to 1998. Later, in the year 2001, he served as the spokesperson of the Indian National Congress. Subsequently, in the month of April 2006, he got elected to the upper house of Indian Parliament – Rajya Sabha.
 
As a whole, he served in the departments of personnel, Law & Justice. Consequently, he got a brilliant opportunity to prove hid ultimate political dedication to work as a Joint Committee on the offices of Profit Member. He served a s a joint committee in order to examine the legal as well as a constitutional position which is related to the office of profit member. Also, he was the consultative committee member for the department of Ministry of Urban Development. Most prominently, in the period between 2006 and 2010, he served as the member of the Committee of Privileges. Also, he served as the consultative committee member of Ministry of external affairs.
