Ajay Rai was born on 19-10-1969 in Varanasi in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. He is an Indian Politician.

Ajay Rai Complete Bio & Career

Ajay Rai is a stalwart Indian politician. He started his political career by joining BJP and became the party’s student wing member. At the young age of 27, he fought MLA elections from Kolasla constituency and won it. He won three times straight between 1996 and 2007. He then demanded Lok Sabha ticket from the party in 2009 and after being denied the ticket, he joined Samajwadi party. He contested on SP’s ticket in 2009 Lok Sabha elections and lost badly. 
 
After a rift with SP, he contested independently in the 2012 UP state election from Kolasla but lost the elections. He then joined INC just before the 2014 general elections and again contested from Varanasi constituency in 2014 general elections. He was up against Narendra Modi of BJP and Arvind Kejriwal of Aam Aadmi Party. He came third but his party still showed faith in him and will be contesting again from Varanasi in the 2019 general elections.
