Alessia Cara is a popular singer and songwriter from Canada. Born as Alessia Caracciolo, this young singer is of Italian descent. She started writing songs at a young age. She also learned to play the guitar for various songs by herself. She started her own YouTube Channel at the age of 13, where she uploaded cover versions of popular songs.
 
Professionally, her style has been compared to those of Amy Winehouse, Rihanna and Lorde. Initially, she appeared on various radio stations. She has later signed a record deal with Def Jam Recordings in 2015. Her debut single ‘Here’ was released under the label in April 2015. The song is about her personal experience of going to parties and is referred to as a sleeper hit. The song gained popularity and was listed among ‘20 Pop Songs You Need On Your Summer Playlist’ by Billboard. The Rolling Stones ranked it at the 21st position on the list of the Best 50 Songs of 2015. The Cosmopolitan magazine named the song in its list of ‘must hear songs’ of the year. Later, Cara released the EP titled, ‘Four Pink Walls’. This was followed by the release of her first debut album ‘Know-It-All’ in November 2015. Her recent release ‘Stay’, a collaboration with Zedd was a chartbuster hit and marked her third song on the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100.
 
She was the part of popular band Coldplay’s tour across Europe and North America. Her song ‘How Far I’ll Go’ featured in the Disney film ‘Moana’. She has appeared on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ and ‘Saturday Night Live’. She also featured in Troye Sivan’s song ‘Wild’.
