Bhuma Akhila Priya took his education from the Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM) in Hyderabad and a Bachelor's degree in Business Management. As she belongs to a politician family, therefore Priya has a keen interest in politics. During her college life, she often took part in many campaigns that help to needy individuals. She also became a part of several organizations that work for human rights, women empowerment, and children's orphanage homes.
 
Furthermore, in 2014, she joined the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) after the death of her mother in a road accident. Bhuma has good qualities of a leader therefore, she was standing in MLA elections from Allagadda Constituency. She won these elections and became the MLA of Allagadda Constituency in Andhra Pradesh. After spending two years here Akhila Priya jumped to Telugu Desam Party (TDP) with her father in 2016.
 
In 2018, Bhuma Akhila became the youngest politician from Andra Pradesh in the cabinet of former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Here, Akhila Priya was in-charge of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Telugu language. Apart from this, she also runs a Crusher factory as a partnership with their relative Mr. Shivamani Reddy in Kondapuram of Dornipadu Mandal, the district of Kurnool.
