Digambar Kamat Complete Bio & Career

The Indian Politician, Digambar served as the eminent Chief Minister of the state – Goa for the period between June 2007 and March 2012. However, he is the active member of the political party – Indian National Congress. Additionally, he is also selected for the post of President of the Swimming Federation of India from the year 2006. Most prominently, he completed his bachelor degree in BSc (Science). Later, in the year 1994, he decided to come out of the political party – Indian National Congress. Consequently, he got the opportunity to join the other political party – Bhartiya Janta Party. Unfortunately, he was denied from being included in the Indian National Congress. Again in the year 2005, he left the BJP and joined INC. Unfortunately, in the year 200, Digambar Kamat’s government was pushed into the state of crisis. His party did not contain the majority requirement due to a large number of alliance break-ups as well as resignations.
 
Later, the party managed to exist strongly in the government. Consecutively, he started ruling the Goa state as the Chief Minister for the time period between 2007 and 2012 i.e., 5 years ruling period. Later, in the year 2012, he decided to resign from the post of Chief Minister. At the same time, BJP had won 24 seats opposite to Congress which had won only 9 seats. This election was held in the month of March 2012 named as Goa Assembly Elections.
