Karun Chandhok, one of the two Indian Formula 1 drivers, was born on 19 January 1984 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He has competed in multiple races and is the winner of numerous racing championships.

Karun Chandhok Complete Bio & Career

With a family background of motor racing drivers, Karun won his debut Indian National Championship in 2000. He also won the Formula Asia Championship and Asian Renault V6 series in 2001 and in 2006 respectively. Karun went in Formula 1 to race for Hispania Racing in 2010 and Team Lotus in 2011.

In the Sportscar’s world, Karun became the only Indian to compete in the exemplary Le Mans 24 hour race. He also joined the Formula E series which was an Electric race car championship. After leaving F1, he sided with as a commentator for BBC and analyst for motorsport.

Karun represents the views and rights of drivers from all over the world as being part of FIA Driver’s Commission. He also organizes the “Karun’s Karting Carnival” in the UK and the “KC500” in South India, two charity events.
