Arguably one of the biggest hitter of the cricket ball this tall and well built West Indian is a lower middle order batsman and an useful medium pacer who is known for bowling subtle change of pace deliveries. He made his international debut for West Indies in the 2007 ODI World Cup against the South Africans. He made a lot of buzz in the Champions League T-20 tournament held in India in 2009 when scored a matchwinning 18-ball 54 against the New South Wales Blues. 
 
That performance made him an overnight star and was contracted by the South Australia to play for them in Australia’s T-20 league Big Bash. In the 2009 player auctions, he was bought by the Mumbai Indians in a tie-breaker for USD 750,000.
 
His main strength is hitting the ball out of the park. Though his technique against the spinners has been questioned often but his records against the leg spinners is outstanding. His dibbly-dobbly medium pace has come quite handy for the various teams that he has played for. Besides batting and bowling, it's his fielding that has won his sides numerous matches. An absolute safe fielder and an agile boundary rider, Pollard is arguably one of the safest fielders around.
 
One of the most sought after players in the shortest form of the game, Pollard has also plied his trade for various t-20 teams such as Dhaka Gladiators, Barbados Tridents, Red Backs, Mumbai Indians and Somerset among others. He has been with MI since 2009 and has been MI stand-in captain in some matches.
