Om Prakash Sharma was born on 23 June 1953. He is a Politician by profession. He completed his studies from Satyawati College. He belongs to Bharatiya Janata Party. He defeated his competitor named, Atul Gupta in the 2013 elections with a margin of 15000 votes.
 
Delhi university students union election was also contested by him. He was also a member of the team which was headed by Arun Jaitley. His political career commenced at Delhi University. He served in the municipal corporation as its employee. He also served as an inspector in the house tax department. He had to work for his family after his father died. He also did his family business for some time and took care of the sweet shops owned by his family. Presently he is serving as a politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is adept at swimming and likes to swim in his free time.
 
He was suspended due to his foul remarks on Alka Lamba in 2016. He was also arrested on the grounds of the attack outside Patiala House courts. A burglary also took place at his office in 2017. Things like DVRs, CCTV cameras, computers, and other such objects were stolen from his office.
