Pinarayi Vijayan Complete Bio & Career
Pinarayi Vijayan is currently the Chief Minister of south Indian state of Kerala. He is a politburo member of one of the oldest party i.e. the CPI (Communist Party of India, Marxist). In his political career, he has served as the Minister of Co-operatives and Electricity in the Kerala government from the year 1996 to 1998. During the 2016 Kerala State elections, Vijayan got elected from Dharmadom constituency. On 25th may 2016, Vijayan sworn-in as the 12th C M of the state of Kerala.
As soon as he completed his school education, Vijayan got employed as a handloom weaver for one year. He then joined Government Brennen College in Thalassery for a course and the also obtained his degree from the very same college.
Pinarayi Vijayan joined politics while he was a student at the Government Brennen College. He used to actively participate in the student union activities and then got associated with the Communist Party in the year 1964. He was then made the district secretary of Kannur District of KSF (Kerala Students' Federation), which later changed the name SFI (Students Federation of India). He finally earned the coveted post of the state president and state secretary of the party. For his political activities, Vijayan was even jailed for a term of one and a half years.
During his tenure as Electricity Minister, the Kerala state scaled new highs in the power generation field with his well-planned execution and inception of several new projects.
