Piyush Goyal is a well-known politician from India. He is an Alma mater of Government Law College, Mumbai and University of Mumbai, C.A. 
 
Goyal has been involved in politics for 28 years and has held several important positions in the Bharatiya Janatha Party. He has also served as campaign in-charge for several elections over the period.  Currently, he is an elected Rajya Sabha member from Maharashtra. He served as the Minister of State with Independent Charge for New and Renewable Energy, Coal, and Power in the Government of India. During his tenure, his ministry is said to have electrified over 13,000 remote villages. The ministry also launched the UDAY program to help the Power DISCOMS in the country. After a cabinet reshuffle, he took over the Ministry of Mines in July 2016. Upon further cabinet expansion, he is now assigned the office of Minister of Railways and Coal. 
 
Apart from being an active politician, he is also investment banker of high reputation. He has been an advisory for top corporate from India on management strategy and growth. He has also been on the directorial boards of Bank of Baroda and State Bank of India. He is a nominated member to the Task force meant for the project involving interlinking of rivers. He has also been a member of the Standing Committee on Finance and also the Consultative Committee under the Ministry of Defense. Piyush Goyal is also an active member of the Managing Committee of IMC (Indian Merchants Chamber). He has also actively involved with several NGOs across diverse fields.
