Piyush Pandey was born on 05-09-1955 in Jaipur in the state of Rajasthan, India. He was an Indian Advertising Director, Screenwriter, Songwriter, Author, Film Actor & Businessperson. He served as the Executive Chairman of India at Ogilvy, a New York City-based advertising, marketing, and public relations agency.
Piyush Pandey Complete Bio & Career
Piyush Pandey was born and grew up in a Hindu family in Jaipur. He did his schooling at St. Xavier's School in Jaipur. Later, he completed his Master's degree in History from St Stephen's College in Delhi.
He joined Ogilvy in 1982 as a client servicing executive. First of all, he wrote the Sunlight Detergent print ad. From 1982 to 1988, he served as a client servicing executive and shifted to the creative department of Ogilvy in 1988. In 1988, he wrote the Indian patriotic song 'Mile Sur Mera Tumhara', which was composed by Bhimsen Joshi & released on India's Independence Day in 1988.
Then he made several notable advertisements, including Fevicol, Asian Paints, Cadbury Dairy Milk, Luna Moped, and others. In 1991, he was promoted to creative director and then to national creative director by Ogilvy. In 1994, he was nominated to the board of directors. In 1999, he wrote the story of the Hindi film 'Bhopal Express' along with his brother Prasoon Pandey. In 2006, he was nominated to the Ogilvy Worldwide board. Under his leadership, Ogilvy became the largest advertising agency in India. He wrote two books titled Pandeymonium, Open House with Piyush Pandey. He also acted in a Bollywood film 'Madras Cafe' in 2013 as a cabinet secretary of India, opposite John Abraham, Nargis Fakhri, Raashii Khanna, and others. In 2016, he was awarded the Padma Shri.
On 01-01-2024, he became the Chief Advisor of the agency. In the same year, he was awarded the LIA Legend Award.

He married Nita Joshi in December 2000, who was a writer & his colleague at Ogilvy.
