Born on 15 Oct 1956, he is a lawyer in the Supreme Court. He completed his education from IIT Madras and Princeton University. His father influenced him to public activities. He primarily deals with the accountability of public servants, human rights, and environment protection. He is also linked with numerous organizations like transparency international and people’s union for civil liberties. He condemned other lawyers as a moral. He raised his voice against corruption and formed a committee named, committee on Judicial accountability.
 
He is against the law of Contempt of the court. He also wrote the book titled, before the selling of a nation in 1990. He also raised his voice against the soft drinks brand, Coca-cola, and Pepsico that they are not informing the public about the harmful ingredients in their product. He was opposed to the investigation done by the CBI. He was of the belief that CBI does not conduct an honest investigation. He stood with the Naxalites with regard to the large scale violence inflicted on them. He does not support the death penalty.
 
He never hesitated to speak against the Judges. He is bold and outspoken. He condemned SC's decision to build the Sardar Sarovar dam. He also fought against Nepotism. He was charged with the contempt of court by the Supreme Court in Aug 2020. On accounts of comments, he made on the judges. He was fined by Rs.1 by SC on 31 Aug 2020. He is opposed to the united progressive Alliance (UPA) government.
