Rajiv Pratap Rudy was born on 30-03-1962 in Amnour, Saran in the state of Bihar, India. He is an Indian Politician belongs to BJP (Bharatiya Janta Party). He has served as MLA, MP and Independent State Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

Rudy finished his school level education from St. Michaels High School in Patna and thereafter he completed he completed his Bachelors (Hons) and then Masters Degrees in Economics from Punjab University in Chandigarh. After completion of his studies, he started his professional career as a lecturer in the famous Magadh University in Bihar. Subsequently, he also proclaimed a Law (LLB) degree.
 
His foray into politics seems pre-planned but It wasn’t the case. He started his political sting by getting involved in student politics while studying at Punjab University. Rudy began his political career by getting elected as an MLA during state assembly elections in Bihar in 1990. He won a seat from Taraiya Assembly constituency in Bihar. He contested on the Janata Dal ticket. Thereafter he got associated with the BJP and was made the party’s National Vice President. He was elected to the Lok Sabha twice, in 1996 and in 1999. He was sent to the Rajya Sabha from Bihar in 2010 and in 2014 he fought Lok Sabha elections from the coveted constituency of Saran in Bihar and won. His win was arguably his biggest political achievement thus far as he won against none other than Rabri Devi, the former CM of Bihar.
 
During the course of his political career, he has traveled to several countries including Brazil, Germany, France, Italy, Singapore, Nigeria, Nepal, and Saudi Arabia, etc. He has been appointed as a member of various parliamentary committees too. He has served as a member of Committee on Food Management in Parliament complex, Joint Parliamentary Committee on Wakf, Committee on Home Affairs and Parliamentary Forum on Global Warming and Climate change, among others.
 
Rudy is also a qualified pilot and is currently serving as a Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in Narendra Modi's cabinet.
