Ramesh Chennithala is a big name in the Kerala politics. He was serving as the Minister of Home Affairs for the state of Kerala since 2014 till May, 2016. He always fought elections from Indian National Congress. He was born a Malayali child in the Mavelikara region of Kerala. 
 
His early life has been pretty much normal. Born to Shri V. Ramakrishnan Nair and Smt. Devakiamma, he was always keen to be a part of the politics. His inclination grew when he went on to become the All India president of NSUI during his school days. He later went on todo B.A.(Economics), LLB. With the course studies and the research works, he knew that he had to join the politics and represent Kerala, his own state.
 
During the year when he got selected as the president of NSUI and also became the MLA from Haripad constituency in the same year. His acclaims didn’t just stop here, when just three years later in 1985 he also grabbed to become the General Secretary of Indian National Congress. He has a record of becoming the youngest minister only at an age of 29 years during the reign of K.Karunakaran. Not only this makes a full stop at his achievements but he was re-elected as the MLA from the same constituency. Later in the year 1989, he also became a Member of Parliament from Kottayam Parliamentary Constituency. After few years in 2001, he was given a great responsibility by becoming the AICC Secretary and given charge of 7 independent states. 
 
He was again elected as the MLA in 2011 from the same Haripad constituency. Not only was this but he also became a member of numerous committees. His love for politics could have been very well judged by looking at those Committees- Committee on Commerce, Labor and Welfare, Civil Aviation and many more.
