Kunwar Ratanjit Pratap Narain Singh is fondly called Rajaji. He was born in a political family thus he joined politics at a very young age. He was elected MLA for the first time in 1999. He was serving as an MLA until he won the Lok Sabha election in 2009 from Padrauna. He held various prestigious post during his term as an MP of Padrauna. He, however, lost the seat to BJP’s candidate Rajesh Pandey in 2014 general election. His party Congress though have shown faith in him and will be contesting again in 2019 general elections.
On 25-01-2022, RPN Singh quit the Indian National Congress (INC) party and entered in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
