Renuka Bishnoi was born in a very modest family in Punjab. Her parents supported her throughout to complete her studies. She obtained her graduate degree in commerce and soon after her graduation tied knots with the politician Kuldeep Bishnoi. She also joined politics after her marriage. 
 
She joined Haryana Janhit Congress party and fought MLA elections in 2011 by elections from Hansi constituency of Haryana after her husband left the seat as he was elected as a Lok Sabha MP. It was a time of double joy for the family as they had an MLA and an MP from the same family. She is very popular in Haryana for her oratory skills and the way she connects with the common man in Haryana. She is known for taking action against women foeticide and plays a huge role in encouraging young girls from her state to take up education seriously. She keeps on visiting her constituency once in every week.
