Saurabh Shukla Complete Bio & Career

Saurabh Shukla relocated to Delhi with his family when he was just 2 years old. After obtaining his graduate degree from Khalsa College in Delhi, he joined theatre in the year 1984. He appeared in some of the most famous plays such as Look Back in Anger (John Osborne), A View From The Bridge (Arthur Miller), and Ghashiram Kotwal (Vijay Tendulkar) among others. He made his acting debut through television series Mulla Nasiruddin in the year 1990.
 
While he was performing at National School of Drama, veteran filmmaker Shekhar Kapoor got impressed with his acting skills and offered him a role in his film Bandit Queen in the year 1994. Post that, he appeared in few more films but got recognition after his performance in Ram Gopal Verma’s Satya in the year 1988. Audience witnessed his comic side in the film Baadshah. He played a small role in the film Nayak: The Real Hero but his performance was top notch and since then has been looked upon as one of the best supporting actor in the industry. Some of his noted performances include Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Yeh Saali Zindagi, Barfi!, Jolly LLB, and Jolly LLB 2 among others. Some of his latest releases include films like The Zoya Factor, Ujda Chaman, Bala, and Pagalpanti among others. He will be next seen in films like Aadhar and Aaj Kal. In addition to Hindi, he has also worked in some South Indian language films as well. For his performance in the film Jolly LLB, he won the National Film Award.
 
In addition to acting, he has also served as a writer and director of various Bollywood films. He wrote the screenplay of cult classic film Satya. Mudda - The Issue which released in 2003 mark his directorial debut film. Some of the others films which he has directed and written screenplay are Mithya, Raat Gayi Baat Gayi?, Pappu Can't Dance Saala, and I M 24 among others.
