Shatrughan Sinha Complete Bio & Career
Shatrughan Sinha did his schooling at Patna. He graduated from Patna Science College. After this, he was also a student of Film and Television Institute in Pune. Shatrughan Sinha's desire was to work in films since childhood. After taking training from there, he started trying in movies. His father wanted to make two sons a doctor as well as two sons a scientist. All his brothers were able to fulfill their father's dream, except him, and he left for Mumbai to work in films. He came in Mumbai to become a hero, but the industry made him a villain in the initial phase of his career. After making a mark as a villain, he finally became a hero.
He made his acting debut through the film 'Prem Pujari' and got the opportunity to work alongside legendary actor Dev Anand. He portrayed the role of a Pakistani army officer in this film. However, for some reason, this film could not complete. So in 1969, he got the chance to play the role of Police Inspector in Mohan Sehgal's film Sajan. But with the recommendation of actress Mumtaz, he met Chander Wohra and got the opportunity to work in his film "Khilona" (1970). Before signing the Gulzar ’s film Mere Apne in the year 1971 he played many supporting roles in the films. In 1973, he was cast for the first time with Poonam Sinha in the film Sabak
In the early of his career, he established himself as the supporting hero in some of the Hindi films such as Dost, Khilona, Jheel Ke Us Paar, Gambler, and Aa Gale Lag Jaa. His duo pair with superstar Amitabh Bachchan was very successful and they both gave some hit films too like Dostana, Naseeb, Bombay To Goa, Kala Patthar, Shaan, and Yaar Meri Zindagi. In 1976, he signed the film Kalicharan in which his role was quite angry. This role made him a star overnight and he gained the stardom.
In the '90s along with the acting, he became a politician. He got the first political success in 1996 when he was elected Rajya Sabha MP from Bihar. After this, for the second time, Rajya Sabha was elected in 2002 under the NDA rule. Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee himself was so impressed with the work that he gave Sinha a place in his cabinet. In the 2009 general elections, Shatrughan Sinha won elections with Patna Sahib. He defeated second film artist Shekhar Suman. After this, the same seat has also won in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. After he was denied Lok Sabha ticket by BJP in 2019 general elections, he joined hands with Congress and will be contesting from Patna Sahib constituency in 2019 general elections from Congress ticket. He will be up against veteran BJP leader Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad.
