Sitaram Yechury Complete Bio & Career
Sitaram Yechury passed his matriculation from All Saints High School in Hyderabad. The Turbulence of Telangana which happened in 1969 forced him to come to Delhi. He got admitted into Presidents Estate School. Owing to his exceptional academic shrewdness, Yechury stood All India first in CBSE Higher Secondary Examination in 1970. He joined the renowned St. Stephens College of Delhi University and did his B.A. (Hons.) in Economics from there.
Sitaram Yechury landed into the Indian politics in 1974 by becoming a member of the Students Federation of India (SFI). Sitaram Yechury then joined the Communist Party of India in 1975, when he was still a studying at Jawaharlal University in Delhi. Yechury was among the revolutionist who were arrested during the Emergency which was imposed in 1975 by Indira Gandhi.
Yechury is highly criticized by the government for causing regular distress; however, he defends it by saying it’s his democratic right. His currently serving as a member of the Rajya Sabha and his term is from 19 August 2011 until 18 August 2017.
Along with Politician he is also a noted writer and columnist who writes a daily column for Hindustan Times.
