Somnath Bharti graduated in law from Delhi University and later on he pursued his M.Sc. from the IIT Delhi. from 2007 - 08 he served as Secretary of the IIT Delhi-Alumni-Association and also from (2011 - 12)and he worked as an IIT-Delhi-Senator. and following he became Chairman for the period of 2012 - 13. Before he became a lawyer, he first had a successful academic job and next as an IT counsellor.
He continued to advocate even against the prison sentences of Vikram Buddhi, At Purdue University he was pursuing his PhD who was confined by ascendant existences in the US in the year 2006 for making a note against the former US president George Bush. At the end, the US justice practice was pushed to pass a verdict in just 3 months after it used to hold for extended three years. He was elected AAP candidate for the Malviya Nagar electoral division in the 2013 elections to the Delhi State Assembly He fought the 2013 Delhi State Assembly elections and he gave the ticket by the AAP party for the electoral division of Malviya Nagar.
He recorded a victory and he was appointed as the minister of Administrative Reforms, Tourism, Art & Culture as well as the Law Minister for the period of 2013-14. Somnath Bharti's wife alleged that he had beaten her for a long time and he was detained on charges of domestic violation. On February 2014, he used to leave his position when the government of Arvind Kejriwal, of which he was a member, withdrew due to the failure to adopt a bill of Jan Lokpal.
