Sridevi was born to the Tamil superstar father actor Vijayakumar and her time leading heroin Manjula. She is having four elder sisters Preetha, Kavitha, Vanitha, and Anitha and have one elder brother Arun Vijay. Both her siblings are also actors.
In 1992, she appeared as a child artist from her first Tamil film Rickshaw Mama. Being a child actor, she acted in various Tamil as well as Telugu films such as Amma Vanthachu, David Uncle and Sugamana Sumaigal. She inherited the acting skills from the superstar’s family like her father; mother, sisters and even brother are born actors. She made her debut as a heroine from the Tamil film Kathir’s Kadhal Virus in 2002. In the same following year, she was cast in the Tamil film Priyamana Thozhi. For that film, she won the nomination at the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress (Tamil).In the subsequent time, she was cast for the various other films in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu such as Aadhi Lakshmi, Preethigaagi, Preethigaagi, Veera and Lakshmana.
