Vallabhbhai Patel was born on 31-10-1875 in Nadiad in the state of Gujarat, India. He was an Indian Politician, Lawyer, Activist, Writer & Author. He was the 1st President of Indian National Congress (INC), Home Minister & Deputy Prime Minister.

Vallabh Bhai Patel was a bright and a scholar in his school days. Due to the weak economic condition of the house, his father decided to send him to college after passing the high school examination in 1896 but Vallabhbhai refused to go to college. After this, for nearly three years, Vallabhbhai was at home and working hard to make the preparation for Barrister's degree. He went to London to study the barrister, came back, and started practising law in Ahmedabad. He was Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi 's ideas, he played a great role in India's independence movement. Vallabhbhai Patel was an Indian barrister and politician, and was one of the main leaders of the Indian National Congress and was one of the originators of the Republic of India. He had struggled hard for the country's independence and had pictured of tying India in the form of unity and releasing it.

Sardar Patel's first and significant contribution to independence movement was in the Kheda struggle. The Khheda division (division) of Gujarat was in the hold of those days. The farmers necessitated a huge tax exemption from the British government. When this was not allowed, Sardar Patel, Gandhiji, and others led the farmers and motivated them not to do so. In the end, the government favoured and relief in the tax that year. Patel always honoured the Gandhiji's desires, kept him away from the prime minister’s post, and supported Nehru for this. He was committed with the task of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister. Even then, Nehru and Patel's relationships remained stiff. Because of this, both of them had threatened to leave their post on many occasions.

In 1947, India got independence, but despite this, the challenge before the country was to unite its small princely states, which could make the dream of an unbroken and huge India year come true.  Such clear policy towards the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel states, saying that "states the three subjects - defence, external affairs and communications systems of the base on the Indian Union in incorporating the will." Thanks to his innumerable contribution, the people of the country gave him the title of "Iron Man of India - Iron Man". Along with that, he is also called "the patron of the Indian Civil Servant". It is said that he established the modern service system of modern India.

On October 31, 2013, on the 137th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of a new monument of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel in Narmada district of Gujarat. It was decided to set up a huge statue of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel built here by Iron; hence, the name of this monument is named 'Statue of Unity'. This proposed statue is to be set up on a small rocky island, which lies between the river Narmada in front of the Sardar Sarovar dam in Kevadia. On 31, Oct 2018 P.M Narendra Modi inaugurated this statue and, this statue of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel will be the world's tallest metal statue at a cost of around 2980 crores.
