Vijay Goel from Sriram College of Commerce he obtained his M.Com. degree. And later he obtained the LL.B. from Delhi University. He was jailed during an emergency situation prevailed in India and despite that he was an active member of RSS. After being released from prison, he became the president of the University of Delhi student union as a nominee for Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in the year 1977.
 
From 1974-75 he was the treasurer of ABVP. He revealed depravity on false certificates that were then served at the univ. He was elected 12th as well as the 13th Lok Sabha from the area of Chandni Chowk as well as for the eleventh Lok Sabha from Sadar.
Until 2004, he became the  Minister of Labor, Statistics and Program, also the additional ministry of Youth and Sports. Goel was introduced as the CM candidate of BJP party during the   2013  Delhi Parliamentary election just a few weeks prior to the voting day. According to a source, due to the election intimidation modelled by the newly established Aam Aadmi Party. Due to the fact, Harsh Vardhan replaced him.
 
He was chosen to the member of Rajya saba from Rajasthan State in 2014. From 5th July 2016 to 3rd September 2017 he served as Minister of Sports of state. On 3 Sep 2017, he became the state Minister of Parliamentary affairs. Under the flag of the social and cultural organization Lok Abhiyan, Goel began a protest against the lottery hosted by India in 1993. He led an operation carried by the group of 120 MPs. On 7th July 1998 lottery system was forbidden in India. In 1987 he founded Thetoybank. A nonprofit organization collects the toys from contributors as well as donors, refurbishes/repairs them, and redistributes these toys to the poor Delhi street children.
 
Goel, with his son Siddhant Goel, reestablished the Haveli who was 200 years old structure into the new structural building Haveli Dharampura in the area of   Chandni Chowk. Haveli Dharampura of Vijay Goel recently won the prestigious award of  UNESCO Asia Pacific Cultural Heritage Protection Award.
