Ady did his schooling from high school in Claremont, California. He starts taking in activism during his school days and fights for gay rights. Then, he attended Columbia College where he got a bachelor's degree in Economics. In 2010, he got a J.D. degree from Yale Law College. During college, he worked as a communication director on the campaign of Democrat Victoria Wells Wulsin.
While earning his law degree, he worked for the rights of immigrant workers and also as a clerk in the United States district court for the southern district of New York. In 2012, he started a campaign with a federal reserve and discussed the impact of monetary policy on low-income people.To support a range of progressive causes he developed The Be a Hero campaign and raised funds about $4 million.
