Washington Sundar is a professional cricketer from India. He is a wicket-keeping all-rounder. This left-handed batsman and right-arm off spinner has represented Indian National Cricket Team in Under -19 cricket.
 
His first-class cricket debut happened for Tamil Nadu during the Ranji Trophy in 2016-17. He went on to gain recognition from being a batsman to an efficient off-spinner. His maiden century in first-class cricket came against Tripura in Ranji Trophy of 2017-18. He was also a part of U-19 World Cup Squad in 2016. He rose to prominence with his domestic cricket performances and was picked up by Rising Pune SuperGiants for Indian Premier League. He performed well for the team, where he had also picked up the Man of the Match award for his impressive bowling performance in Qualifier 1 against Mumbai Indians. He holds the record for best bowling figures in an IPL final.
 
He was then named in the squad for a T20I and ODI bilateral series against Sri Lanka. He made his ODI debut on 13th December 2017 as a replacement for injured Kedar Jadhav. LahiruThirimanne is his first ODI Wicket. Sundar’s T20I debut happened on 24th December 2017. He thus became the youngest Indian player to debut T20I at the age of 18 years and 80 days.
 
Further, he was the part of the Indian team for the Nidahas Trophy tri-series against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. He was acclaimed for his economical bowling and his impressive performance fetched him the Man of the Series Award. He became the youngest T20I player to bag a 3-wicket haul. Later for the 11th edition of Indian Premier League in 2018, he was picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore for an amount of Rs 3.20 crores. Though he had a mediocre 2018 season, he was still retained by RCB for 2019 edition.
