Agatha Sangma Complete Bio & Career

Agatha Kongkal Sangma is a well known former Member of Parliament of India. She attended Pune university for her LLB degree and then joined the  Delhi High Court bar. She completed her Masters from Nottingham University in Environmental Management. She was elected for the first time to the fourteenth Lok Sabha in 2008 by-election when her father resigned and joined the state politics. She was again elected. She was representing Tura constituency as a candidate of Nationalist Congress Party following the 2009 parliamentary election. She became the youngest Member of Parliament till then. She was the youngest minister among the ministers’ counsel of 15th Lok Sabha. She had served as a minister of a Rural department for the state.
 
When cabinet reshuffle happened in 2012, she resigned from her post. She is an environmentalist, lawyer, and an amateur photographer. She contested in 2018 Meghalaya legislative assembly election and won from South Tura constituency with 6499 votes in total on National People's Party’s ticket.
