Rahul Mahajan is the son of the former BJP leader Pramod Mahajan. Poonam Mahajan an MP from Mumbai North Central as well as a BJP leader is his younger sister. He came into the limelight after his entry into the most popular reality show "Bigg Boss -2" in the year 2008. Even those he reached in the finale of the show. Despite that, he was evicted from the house just before the grand finale of season 2 of the Bigg Boss. His second reality show was Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega, the theme of the show was based on the show "Rakhi Ka Swayamvar".In this show, 17 girls participated in the show for becoming the bridal of the Rahul Mahajan in a swayamavar.
Rahul married to the Bengali model Dimpy Ganguly in 2010 in a reality show and their marriage was telecasted on the Indian television.
