Ramachandra Guha was born on 29 April 1958. By profession, he is a writer. He completed his studies at Delhi University and later on joined IIM Calcutta. His articles primarily focus on issues like Economics, Social, Political, Contemporary, and related to the environment. He also writes for various newspapers like Hindustan Times and Amar Ujala.
 
His notable work includes the book titled, India after Gandhi in 2007. His work was published by Macmillan and Ecco. Many versions of this book are available. A collection of essays were published by him titled, Patriots and Partisans in 2012. He also wrote the biography of Mahatma Gandhi titled, Gandhi before India in 2013. In September 2016, he wrote the essays titled Democrats and Dissenters. He has written books on numerous disciples like History, Politics, Environment and cricket, and many more. Another book which he wrote on Gandhi was titled, Gandhi: The Years That Changed The World, 1914-1948 in 2018. His notable work in the field of cricket includes A Corner of a Foreign Field: The Indian History of a British Sport which was published in 2002. This work basically deals with the development and growth of cricket in India. His upcoming book will be based on cricket stories which he will be published in 2021.
